9x12 ft acrylic on cotton "The prodigal son"
I was honored to make a painting for the church. The topic was the prodigal son and it was hung one day for the kids' musical. It was well received and I am happy with it considering I only had a week to do it. The week before I did some sketches and color sketches as well. In retrospect I will do even more sketching next time I do major piece. I'll figure out every little detail ahead of time. I also wildly underestimated the distraction I encountered by well meaning people who came to visit the basement studio. It was nice to have company though and I am pleased people were interested in my work. I was also happy to answer all the kids' question why I painted the sky orange, or other requests. But then I did have to put an end to it. I finally got to work in peace when everybody had left for the day.
